Alicia Muñoz graduated with her Masters Degree in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling from New York University. She is a Virginia, New Jersey and New York Licensed Professional Counselor. In 2010, she completed her training in Imago Couples therapy and has received extensive training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy). She has been treating individuals and couples, and helping people improve their relationships, for over nine years. Prior to opening her private practice, she provided individual, couple and group therapy at Bellevue Hospital Center’s WTC EHC Mental Health Program in New York City.
Her approach centers on helping clients access their innate strength and resilience while decreasing self-sabotaging behaviors in their relationships. By becoming more aware of outdated survival strategies, learning practical and effective communication tools, and tuning in to untapped inner resources, clients explore and understand emotional challenges in a safe, supportive environment. This collaboration can help clients unlock their potential individually and as a couple, finding healing and enjoying life more fully.
Alicia is a member of the AEDP Institute, the American Counselors Association, and IRI and MAIT.
